Thomas Ades will be conducting pianist Kirill Gerstein, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, and Ladies of the London Philharmonic Choir in Holst's The Planets and a new work by Thomas Ades himself at the Royal Festival Hall.

Performers:

Thomas AdesThomas Ades is a conductor and composer of operas and orchestral works. He has worked with the London Symphony Orchestra, Boston Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Chamber Orchestra of Europe and Royal Concertgebouw.

Kirill GersteinKirill Gerstein was a recipient of the prestigious Gilmore Artist Award for ‘extraordinary piano artistry’. He is currently a professor of piano at the Musikhochschule Stuttgart.

The London Philharmonic Orchestra was founded by Sir Thomas Beecham, and has been based at London’s Royal Festival Hall ever since its opening in 1951. It is also the resident symphony orchestra of the Glyndebourne Festival Opera.

The London Philharmonic is one of the leading independent choirs in the country, working closely with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. With 200+ members ranging from bass, tenor, alto and soprano, the choir has a wide repertoire of choral styles.
