The Lord Chamberlain's Men will be performing Shakespeare's enchanting comedy A Midsummer Night's Dream in the grounds of Kenwood House. They're an all-male troupe who use traditional Elizabethan costumes, music and dance.
It's a supernatural comedy that throws together a load of confused lovers and mischievous fairies to create chaos... Lysander loves Hermia, but she loves Lysander. Helena loves Demetrius, who used to love Helena, but now he loves Hermia instead. When Hermia's father insists that she choose Demetrius she promptly runs off with Lysander... where Oberon and Titania are having their own battle of love.
As the fairy world and real world collide their love lives tangle up, but ultimately give way to happily ever afters.
Note: Feel free to bring a small picnic, but make sure it fits inside a standard-sized carrier bag, small ruck-sack or small hamper. Alcohol is not permitted inside your picnic, but there will be a wide variety of bars and food stalls on site.
