The Nitto ATP World Tour Finals is the big finale at the end of every tennis year, featuring the Top 8 players in the men's world rankings. No women take part.
The format for the competition is a mix of group stages and knockout rounds. The first six days are split between two groups of four, with each player playing three round-robin matches. The top two players from each group then move onto the semi-finals, and the ultimate winner could win as many as 1,500 rankings point if he goes through the entire contest undefeated.
Note: Each session begins with a doubles match. This will be followed approximately two hours later by a singles match (depending on how long the doubles match takes). The players taking part in each session are only announced 24-48 hours before each session begins.
The last time Britain had a winner was when Andy Murray beat Novak Djokovic in 2016. Last year's content saw him beaten again when Alexander Zverev pipped him to the title.
