Westminster Abbey is #14 in our London Bucket List

It's summer... you want to take your partner to a romantic movie... but you don't fancy sitting indoors next to someone crunching on a bucket of popcorn all night. So what can you do? How about watching a big blockbuster movie at Westminster Abbey instead? (And no, that's not a typo!)

Well... that's what it's advertised as, but it's actually being screened round the side in Dean's Yard. But it's still a very pretty place to watch a movie with the Abbey towering up behind.

Tonight's movie is the Oscar winning movie Shakespeare In Love (15, 119 mins), starring Joseph Fiennes and Gwyneth Paltrow as the young bard and his muse, Viola de Lesseps.

Note: Be aware that there's limited seating capacity so advanced booking is recommended. It's also recommended that you bring your own blanket to sit on (or you can pre-order one when you book). Premium tickets will include a better seating position and a complimentary drink at the bar. Bear in mind that bad weather will not stop the screening going ahead, so prepare for a bit of drizzle and cold. (This is London, after all!)
