The streets of London will be paved with gold this Christmas as Dick Whittington comes to the Hackney Empire.

Maybe one day we'll have a panto about our modern-day Mayors (fancy a panto about Sadiq Khan or Boris Johnson, anyone?), but for now we'll have to settle for Dick Whittington and his trusty sidekick cat, who comes to London on a quest to find fame and fortune.

Little does he know that he's actually embarking on the adventure of a lifetime: fighting rodent royalty, meeting an eccentric fairy, and winning the heart of his one true love.

Dick Whittington is a rags-to-riches tale, bursting with laugh-out-loud topical gags, show-stopping song and dance numbers, and some of the most boo-able baddies outside of City Hall.
