Opera Holland Park will be putting on a production of the rarely-seen opera L'Arlesiana.

Francesco Cilea's tragic opera is a tale of desperate passion and jealousy in the heat and pastoral beauty of Provence.

Federico's family are worried about his love for a woman in Arles, after he learns that she has taken another man. All they can do is watch anxiously as he is plunged into crisis.

The opera is best-known for Federico's Lament and Rosa Mamai's Era un giorno di festa and Esser un Madre e un inferno.

Note: The Holland Park Theatre is basically just a big white canopy in the middle of Holland Park, using Holland House as its backdrop. Be aware that some of the sides are open to the air (with the canopy acting as a roof), so you might want to wrap-up warm. There are some picnic areas and refreshment areas dotted around the site which you can use during the interval and before it starts.
