Here's a Christmas treat... how about watching a blockbuster movie at Kensington Palace? They're putting up a pavilion on the Orangery lawn and selling mulled wine, mince pies and hot chocolate to keep you warm.

Tonight's Christmas movie is one of the best-loved of all-time: It's A Wonderful Life (U, 131 mins). It tells the story of how James Stewart is saved from suicide by the intervention of his guardian angel, who then shows him all the people he's helped and lives he's touched.

Note: Admission to Kensington Palace is not included. There is limited seating capacity so advanced booking is definitely recommended. You can order a choice of seats from beanbags to comfy sofas.

Talk about Its A Wonderful Life

Craig’s review of Kensington Palace – “How many tourists put Kensington Palace on their 'must-do' list because of Princess Diana? If that's your only reason for going then trust me: don't bother. It's not much of a palace. It looks more like a Stately home to me -- the kind of country home you might visit on a Sunday afternoon to have a cup of tea. You can always rate a palace by the fame of the names who… continued”
