It's been 51 years since the National Gallery last exhibited Edwin Landseer's The Monarch of the Glen.
This small one-room exhibition will try and explain its enduring appeal as one of the world's best-known animal paintings by showcasing it alongside some more of his Highland scenes, showing how Landseer developed his idea of representing the stag as a central hero.
