The 1951 version of Scrooge (Cert U, 86 mins) is arguably the finest screen version of Charles Dickens' Christmas classic. And now you can see it for free when they show it at the Wallace Collection.

Alastair Sim plays the bitter old miser Ebenezer Scrooge, who is sitting in his stone cold room when he's visited by the ghost of his old business partner, Jacob Marley... and so begins Dicken's classic tale of greed, grief, and the redemptive power of Christmas that helps him see the error of his ways.
