Shakespeare's most brutal play tells the story of how Macbeth is driven to murder and madness by his scheming wife and three wicked witches on the heath.

When three old witches prophecise that he will soon become king, he sets off on a journey of power, paranoia, betrayal... and murder. But just as Macbeth seizes the throne and achieves his dream, the demons from his past rise up and haunt him.

Will he be able to cling to the defiled crown, or will he fall prey to his soul-corroding guilt?

Macbeth reminds of the destruction that can come from a thirst for power, and examines the evil forces that can take root in the mind of a tyrant.
