April 23rd is William Shakespeare's birthday. And it also happens to be the 70th birthday of Nora and Dora Chance - a couple of twin chorus girls born and bred in Brixton. But that's not all... their father and greatest actor of his generation Melchior Hazard turns 100 on exactly the same day — as does his twin brother, Peregrine!

So Nora and Dora start wondering if he's still alive... and then whether he's even their real father at all...

Wise Children is a big, bawdy tangle of sex and scandal, music, mischief and mistaken identity -- and butterflies by the thousand.
