The English National Ballet will be putting on a production of Kenneth MacMillan's classic ballet The Sleeping Beauty.

It tells the story of how Princess Aurora was cursed on her christening day by the wicked fairy, Carabosse, who doomed her to prick her finger on a spindle and die. But a kind fairy tempers the curse so that the Princess will instead fall asleep for 100 years -- and be woken by a handsome prince.

With its sumptuous set, elaborate costumes and Tchaikovsky's glorious score, The Sleeping Beauty is the very essence of classical grandeur.
