Semyon Bychkov will be conducting the BBC Symphony Orchestra at Barbican Hall, with pianist Alexei Volodin.

They will be performing Shostakovich's Piano Concerto No. 2, Variations on a Theme by Glinka and Symphony No. 11

Performers:

Semyon BychkovSemyon Bychkov’s early career saw him conduct the Berlin Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic and Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, before becoming Music Director at the Orchestre de Paris. He now holds the post of Gunter Wand Conducting Chair with the BBC Symphony Orchestra.

Alexei VolodinAlexei Volodin is a Russian concert pianist who holds the post of artist-in-residence with the Mariinsky Orchestra.

BBC Symphony OrchestraThe BBC Symphony Orchestra works closely with the BBC and is the principal orchestra during their world-famous Proms Concerts season at the Royal Albert Hall. They also play regular concerts at the Barbican.
