Craig’ London blog> Craig’s Imperial War Museum review  I’ve written a review and posted some photos on my blog

The Imperial War Museum's new exhibition will examine Britain's expedition in Helmand province, Afghanistan.

British troops were sent to Afghanistan in 2001 and arrived in Helmand five years later. The initial plan was to create a secure environment in which development and economic projects could take place, but it wasn't long before they became tied up fighting a resurgent Taliban, making these new development projects dangerous.

Reflections on Helmand will explore the decisions that shaped the way the conflict escalated, how the fighting impacted on those who lived and worked there, and whether any lessons can be learned for the future.

The exhibition will use a selection of objects, photographs, videos and audio interviews.
