Indian sitar master Anoushka Shankar will be performing alongside Karen Kamensek and the Britten Sinfonia at Proms Concert #41.

They will be giving the first complete live performance of Passages, a 1960s collaboration by Ravi Shankar and Philip Glass.

If you'd like to get a feeling for what the atmosphere is like inside a Proms concert then read Craig's review of a Proms concert at the Royal Albert Hall.

The Britten Sinfonia is one of the country’s finest chamber orchestras. It is based mainly at Cambridge, but has regular seasons at the Southbank Centre and Wigmore Hall. The orchestra does not have a principal conductor, but chooses instead to work with a selection of guest musicians.
