Proms concert #43 will see Charles Dutoit conducting the mezzo-soprano Stephanie d'Oustrac, violinist Joshua Bell, organist Cameron Carpenter and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in a selection of classical works by Falla, Lalo and Saint-Saens.

Charles Dutoit is a Swiss conductor noted for his love of French and Russian works. He has held prestigious posts with some of the world’s best orchestras, and is currently the principal conductor of the Royal Philharmonic.

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) was founded by Thomas Beecham in 1946. Subsequent principal conductors have included the great André Previn and Vladimir Ashkenazy.
