The BP Portrait Award is the most prestigious portrait painting competition in the world.

More than 2,500 artists are expected to enter portraits this year, and the most outstanding of them will be put on display at the National Portrait Gallery.

The exhibition will feature everything from informal and personal studies of friends and family, to revealing portraits of famous faces, in a wide variety of different styles.
