It's AD 61, and a rebellion is brewing on the edge of the Roman Empire...
The King of the Iceni has died and his widow Boudica has tried to claim her rightful place on the throne. But Rome has other plans and flogs Boudica for her insolence (a bad idea), abuses her daughters, and banishes them from their homeland.
But Boudica is back. And this time she has an army!
She will have her revenge. She will have blood (plenty of it). And she will make Rome quake in fear.
The Globe's theatre season runs from April to October. Craig has been to see a play at the Globe himself and thoroughly recommends it.
It's not like any other theatre that you have been to -- it's open-air, for a start, and it has a standing area in the middle (called 'The Yard'). The actors sometimes parade through this area during the scenes, and involve the crowd as if they were part of the cast. Check out Craig's review of a play at the Globe before you go, so you can get a feeling for what it's like inside.
Got a question? – Talk about Boudica
