Sir Simon Rattle, tenor Simon O'Neill and the London Symphony Orchestra will be performing a selection of classical works by Strauss and Mahler at Barbican Hall.
Strauss -- Metamorphosen
Mahler -- Das Lied von der Erde
Sir Simon Rattle originally rose to fame with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, before beating Daniel Barenboim for the post of principal conductor at the Berlin Philharmonic. He is also a regular guest conductor for both the Vienna Philharmonic and Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.
The London Symphony Orchestra (LSO) is the resident orchestra of the Barbican Centre, and has been in operation since 1904 – London’s oldest surviving orchestra.
