This event has already passed

Roy Ayers -- The Godfather of Neo-Soul -- was around at the birth of acid jazz and jazz funk, and scores of DJs and hip-hoppers have been incorporating samples of his music into their own tunes, giving Roy Ayers' career a second wind.

But he's best known for his big hits in the 70s including 'Everybody Loves the Sunshine', 'Searchin' and 'Freaky Deaky'.
