The Tower of London is #8 in our London Bucket List
Good for kids? Value for money? Worth a visit?

Dust off your mittens and stripy winter scarf because the Tower of London's outdoor ice rink is back!

This 1040sq metre rink has got the most memorable setting in London because it's actually inside the dry moat - in the shadow of one of the Tower's impregnable walls. During the evening the whole place is lit with bright lights, giving it a dramatic atmosphere. And if you walk up the steps you'll see Tower Bridge as well!

There's also an Ice Bar & Cafe next-door where you can warm-up after your skate, serving a selection of winter drinks and snacks.

Craig has written a review of the Christmas ice rinks in London. And here is our list of all the ice rinks operating this year.

This is how a winter rink should look, all lit in brilliant blues with a giant Tiffany Christmas tree up the front. It gets dark early in the winter when we put the clocks back so it's pitch black at five-thirty, and people have packed it out already. They are half gliding and half sliding, and they all look… continued”
