"Mitridate, re di Ponto" is one of the Mozart's early operas (he was just 14 when he wrote it!), and tells the story of two sons of the mighty warrior Mitridate. Both of them love their father's fiancee, Aspasia, but while Sifare is determined to remain loyal to his father, Farnace prepares to betray him to their enemies.

Mitridate swears vengeance and marches into battle, and manages to reconcile with his sons before succumbing to his wounds.
