Mitridate Re Di Ponto

Director: Graham Vick
Composer -- Mozart
Conductor -- Christophe Rousset; Cast: (the cast may change on different dates) Albina Shagimuratova, Bejun Mehta, Lucy Crowe, Michael Spyres

"Mitridate, re di Ponto" is one of the Mozart's early operas (he was just 14 when he wrote it!), and tells the story of two sons of the mighty warrior Mitridate. Both of them love their father's fiancee, Aspasia, but while Sifare is determined to remain loyal to his father, Farnace prepares to betray him to their enemies.

Mitridate swears vengeance and marches into battle, and manages to reconcile with his sons before succumbing to his wounds.
