The Royal Opera House will be putting on a production of one of Verdi's best-loved operas, "La Traviata".

It tells the story of a passionate love affair between Violetta and Alfredo. But Alfredo's father disapproves of the match, and convinces her to leave him for the sake of the family.

Alfredo doesn't understand the real reason why she left him, and her father only realises his mistake when Violetta falls gravely ill.
