Sir Simon Rattle will be conducting the London Symphony Orchestra at Barbican Hall, alongside the Guildhall School Musicians, LSO Discovery Choir and LSO Community Choir.

They will be performing some classical music by Andrew Norman and Sibelius.

Norman — Incredible Things (world premiere)
Sibelius — Symphony No 2

Sir Simon Rattle originally rose to fame with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, before beating Daniel Barenboim for the post of principal conductor at the Berlin Philharmonic. He is also a regular guest conductor for both the Vienna Philharmonic and Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.

The London Symphony Orchestra (LSO) is the resident orchestra of the Barbican Centre, and has been in operation since 1904 – London’s oldest surviving orchestra.
