Personally, I don't think you can beat sitting at home with a bit of Jools Holland and Ruby Turner on the telly... but if you want to see in the New Year in a bit more style than me, then how about watching the Johan Strauss Dancers in traditional 19th-century costume, waltzing the night away to some classic Viennese music?

The music will be performed by Christopher Warren-Green and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and will include the 'Blue Danube Waltz', 'Die Fledermaus Overture', 'Tritsch Tratsch Polka', 'New Vienna Waltz' and many more.

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) was founded by Thomas Beecham in 1946. Subsequent principal conductors have included the great André Previn and Vladimir Ashkenazy.
