to National Gallery J W Turner was a huge admirer of the Italian artist Claude's landscapes. Two of Turner's most famous paintings were even left to the gallery on the proviso that they were hung between two of his pictures. This exhibition will showcase some other closely related works and includes oils, watercolours and sketchbooks.

Its companion painting "Diana and Actaeon" was purchased in 2009, and the pair have now been reunited in Room 1.
