Whitechapel Art Gallery was built by Charles Harrison in 1901, to bring …great art to the people of the East End. It mainly shows contemporary arts and crafts though – the kind of stuff that you either love or hate. So whether the East End is currently getting their fill depends on your point of view.

The works rotate every few months, so there is always something new to see. They also put on regular talks by musicians and famous filmmakers.
