Borough lie south of the Thames between Southwark and Bermondsey.
Borough Market may be the oldest fruit and veg market in London, dating back to a map in 1542. Records fix its position to Borough High Street, but by 1754 it had become so popular that all the traffic around was getting blocked, so a decision was taken to move it into Stoney Street near Southwark Cathedral.
The food and produce are of rather high-quality, and have been lauded by the likes of Jamie Oliver.
