To be honest that's a difficult question to answer because you haven't narrowed it down very much. you haven't given prices, either -- if you want a 3-star, for example, then getting a decent one in the centre is very difficult.
pretty much everywhere in London is close to transportation links. Everywhere inside zone 1 will be fine, which stretches all the way from Notting Hill in the west to Aldgate in the east (a huge area). there are tube stations all over the place, and buses everywhere as well.
if by good restaurants you mean expensive(-ish) restaurants then they're everywhere as well, from Mayfair all the way through to Tower Bridge. They are literally everywhere!
What kind of walks are you after? if you want lively nightlife ones, then you want to stick with the West End, Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square and Covent Garden. If you want a nice walk along the river then the whole stretch from Big Ben to Tower Bridge is nice. You might want to avoid The City (St. Paul's to the Tower of London) because it can be very dead at the weekends. But a lot of people like the quiet
if you give us some more information maybe we can help some more.
