Could you please give me some guidelines for tipping a hotel concierge? He's already been quite helpful via email and we want to show our appreciation, but don't know the range amounts for his assistance - car hire, theater tickets, etc. We will be there next week. Thank you.

personally, I don't tip them more than a fiver, but i think it's got more to do with what kind of hotel it is, rather than the amount of things they've done for you. if it was a 5-star hotel then i'd go a lot higher.
Even for a week's worth of courtesies for a party of five? We need to add a 'put up with us fee' because the procrastinators of our group are just now weighing in on opinions and desires - the concierge has had to make some adjustments already, which he has done quite cordially. It's the 10 Manchester Street Hotel. Thank you so much.

There's no correct answer with tipping, its a very personal thing. If you think they did a good job then tip them what you think they deserve.
That is a very nice hotel, so i would expect that most people pay a bit more... but he's only doing what he's paid to do, remember!
