Are children allowed to have their own room? – London chat forum

I am just wondering if minors (minors, not miners) are allowed to stay in a hotel room on their own in London.
They will not actually be alone. We are the parents and we will be staying in a room too. But we would rather not share one room, as they are 12 years old. Is that deemed too young to occupy a room on their own, given that we will be in the one next door?

they would probably give you an adjoining room happily enough, with a lockable door in the wall. but it''s finding a hotel that will guarantee an adjoining room before you go -- that is the problem

no hotel is going to book a 12-yeard old into a room on his own. maybe they would if he didn''t have a key. but you''ll need adjoining rooms for that. otherwise forget it

i have taken my child to a hotel and got a room for them before. if they say no all you have to do is book two rooms saying there will be one adult in each room and then swap over at nighttime. that is what we did. but of course you have to be able to trust your child in the room on their own

I thing they are allowed.. Last time I visited London, I stayed at a hotel near Westminster and it was a great experience
