My wife and I are coming to London 13th - 16th October staing at St Giles hotel, we're going to the O2 on Saturday 14th. Can you advise best way to get there and what is the cheapest way to get around london on the other days. I seem to remember years ago you could get a 3 day card, does that still exist.when should i purchase whatever card you recommend
if you want to be a bit more exciting then you can catch a Thames Clipper boat from Westminster Pier all the way to the O2 http://www.londondrum.com/events/?p=28992 it takes a lot longer, but it's a nice boat ride past the City, Canary Wharf and Greenwich.
you can't buy 3 day passes. you can only get 1-day passes and weekly passes. but it's better just to use your contactless card (your everyday bank card). that has the cheapest fares and all you have to do is tap it down on the gate londondrum.com/transport/contactless-pa ... -cards.php
it does, yes. they have exactly the same big round yellow readers on the trains and buses. you just tap the card down on it
But I just realised... don't board the boat at westminster pier like I suggested above. board it at the next one: embankment pier. that's because you'd have to change boats at embankment if you want to go all the way to the O2
