Trains from exeter st. davids either arrive into Paddington or Waterloo. You haven't got much option but to catch a tube from there, unfortunately, because Stratford is too far away for a bus, and a taxi will cost a fortune.
it would be better if you bought a ticket into Waterloo, because then you can get the jubilee line to stratford without changing trains. if you go to paddington then you'll have to change at least once.
you can buy the exeter to waterloo ticket on a site like nationalrail.co.uk. they're only letting you look at prices up to May at the moment, though -- June is too far away to book. so I can't get any prices up.
the price for the waterloo to stratford bit will depend on how you want to pay (cash, contactless or oyster card), and whether you travel at peak or off-peak times. all the different possibilities are shown here (you need to look at the row for zones 1-2): londondrum.com/transport/train-fares-ti ... prices.php
[note: the national rail website can add the underground ticket onto your exeter ticket, if you want -- but then you'll be paying the cash price for it, which is the highest one. if you just pay with a contactless card yourself then it will be slightly cheaper - but only by a couple of quid]
