Hi!

I have tried using the trip planner for London Underground on your website but it keeps going to an error.

Can you please advise the best way to get to the stadium from Trafalgar Square area?

Thank you

our mistake -- twickenham isn't an underground station, so it shouldn't have been on the list.

you have to get a national rail (overground) train to twickenham. the closest one to trafalgar square is waterloo. you can walk there over the river in about 15 minutes, or you can get the tube from charing cross.

I have had a look at the London Overground trip planner and it looks like from Waterloo it is a train and a bus. Is that correct?

Sounds like a bit of a drama if that is the case. Perhaps Wembley, Arsenal or Chelsea Stadiums. My hubby loves both football and rugby so which of the stadium tours would you recommend that are the most direct to get to?

Thank you for your help

You can get a direct train from waterloo to twickenham, and the stadium is only about a 10-minute walk from there. You defintely dont need to get a bus

Ive only done the wembley tour myself. You get to walk on the pitch, see the royal box, changing rooms, press room. Its all right if you like football, i suppose. The only reason to do chelsea or arsenal instead is if youve got a soft spot for those clubs. (If he does happen to support one, then look at their websites for a guided tour with a famous player -- they are always old players from yesteryear, not current ones, and they cost a bit, but it might be worth looking at)
Stamford bridge is like a lego building from the outside -- definitely the worst of the three. arsenals is okay, but wembley has all the accompanying history -- i would go for wembley myself. But its also the furthest away.
Twickenham is just a rugby stadium. They dont have a football club there.

Wembley has the vote! Do we walk to Waterloo to catch the train to Wembley?

easiest way is to get the bakerloo line from charing cross to wembley central. (charing cross is two seconds from trafalgar square)

wembley park station is slightly closer to the stadium, but you'd have to go over to waterloo to get the jubilee line for that -- either that, or walk down Whitehall to Westminster
