Could someone please tell me how many steps there are between the street and the platform? Thanks.

which platform do you mean, we'd need to know which line you're using, and which direction you're travelling in -- there are four platforms.
you'll have to use a flight of stairs whichever one you're using though.

Hmm, well, as Aldgate is the station nearest to where I will be staying on my trip to London, it's likely I will use all of the platforms at somepoint. However, I would probably use the circle line more.
Would you be able to tell me roughly how many steps there are between the street and any of the circle line platforms, please? Or perhaps the largest number of steps between the street and the circle line platforms at this station, if that's easier?
Also, are there more or less steps between the metropolitan line platforms and the street compared to the circle line platforms?
I apologise for the number of questions, but any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

having looked a bit closer they are actually all the same number of steps... (sorry!) each platform is the same number -- you will have to go down a flight of 24 steps followed by another flight of 16 steps. There are no lifts or escalators.
Aldgate East station has got stairs as well -- 22 of them. There are no lifts or escalators there either.
Tower Hill is worse -- you'll have at least 37 steps, depending on which platform you're using
they are the closest stations to aldgate

Ok doke. Thank you very much for the information. It is good to know in advance what I will be traversing when I get there.
