One week before the actual 'Trooping the Colour' parade, they hold a second rehearsal called "The Colonel's Review".
Where is the best place to stand for the colonels review . I'm bringing my grandson ( we have standing tickets only ) next Saturday. Some say in the Mall but which side and presumably near the entrance to Horse Guards parade ?? So looking towards the Palace whereabouts ??
If you want to see the actual ceremony on the parade ground then you’ll be best off standing at the edge of St James’s Park, looking towards the parade ground (near where the Guards’ Memorial is). But you won’t get a perfect view. The ranks of soldiers line up at that edge of the parade ground, so you’ll be looking through them (plus through all of the tourists standing in front of you).
You’ll have an easier view if you just stand somewhere along the mall, and watch them marching down the road instead. (But then you won’t see the ceremony on the parade ground.) I would suggest somewhere on the bend that links the mall with Horse Guards Road
I bought tickets to the Colonels review for 2nd June. Bought them back in January. Went to print them out last night but couldn't print. I have a receipt and booking reference. Would I be allowed in on that?
