"Falstaff" tells the story of a portly old knight who gets himself into all sorts of mischief as he tries to sort out his financial troubles by relying on his irresistible charm. The libretto was created by adapting two of Shakespeare's plays - "The Merry Wives of Windsor" and "Henry IV". The resulting comedy of chaos and confusion turned out to be Verdi's last masterpiece..
