Come and help celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee at the Old Royal Naval College. With a lunch table measuring two-thirds of a mile, the day will include plenty of live entertainment, interactive workshops, market stalls and hand-drawn beers. The riverside location also makes it the perfect place to watch the Jubilee Pageant floating past.

No where is it mentioned if we must bring our own food for this? Anyone?
Thanks

You can take along your own food/drink or picnic if you like (the grounds are large, but it's likely to be packed), and there will be food, drink and beer stalls on site where you can buy some

If it's really packed, you might like to take your picnic into Greenwich Park instead. The view down from the top of the hill to the river is a lot better anyway, although of course you won't be able to see the river pageant boats up close

I didn't think the boats were coming down to Greenwich - i thought they stopped at Tower Bridge then disperesed to West India Quay. Is sighting of the ships likely?

the proper "parade" (do we still call it a parade?) is only going to take place between Chelsea/Battersea and Tower Bridge, so that's where you really need to be, but the boats will begin to form up as far back as Hammersmith, and then begin to disperse after the Queen has reviewed them at Tower Bridge.

So you should still be able to enjoy a huge number of them at Greenwich. Although which ones, and what time they will get there, is all up in the air. The official order of events that we have seen only go as far as Tower Bridge. And we haven't seen any information about the Royals going further than Tower Bridge either.

I am quite looking forward to seeing this, and might have a wander down to the river. I like that it is along the whole strecth of the river because that means we will be able to find a nice spot somewhere wihtout everyone being crowded in like sardines in one place.
I am especially looking forward to the queens barge, the dragon and the fireworks boat! :grinning: :applauding:
