London has plenty of outdoor ice rinks at Christmastime, but if you only go to one this year make it this one — in the 18th-century courtyard of Somerset House.
Even if you only go to watch, the backdrop is spectacular. You can sit in the Skate Cafe with a mug of hot chocolate, watching everyone whizz around the rink in the shadow of a 40-foot Tiffany-decorated Christmas tree.
