The City, LondonThe annual Lord Mayor’s Show is a mainstay of the London calendar — nearly 800 years old and still going strong. The parade features everything from military marching bands and Chinese acrobats, to decorated floats and the Gold State Coach.
One of the must-see attractions of the day are the river barges that float down the Thames, piled high with crakcers and bangers and set adrift on the river.
Events take place from Mansion House (where the Lord Mayor lives) all the way to Aldwych, and the closing fireworks display at 5 PM will be set off from a barge moored between Blackfriars Bridge and Waterloo Bridge.
