Roy Ayers

Roy Ayers, aka the Godfather of Neo-Soul, was around at the birth of acid jazz and jazz funk in the 1960s. The 70s and 80s saw him turn into an R&B band leader, and nowadays his career is enjoying a second-wind as DJs and hip-hoppers sample his music.

He's probably best-known for his big hits in the 70s, which included songs like Everybody Loves the Sunshine, Searchin and Freaky Deaky.

Roy Ayers’s previous appearances in London were at Jazz Café and The Forum.
