Opera Holland Park will be putting on a production of one of Verdi's best-loved operas, La Traviata.
It tells the story of a passionate love affair between Violetta and Alfredo. But Alfredo's father disapproves of the match, and convinces her to leave him for the sake of the family.
Alfredo doesn't understand the real reason why she left him, and her father only realises his mistake when Violetta falls gravely ill.
The music will be performed by the City of London Sinfonia and the Opera Holland Park Chorus.
Note: The Holland Park Theatre is basically just a big white canopy in the middle of Holland Park, using Holland House as its backdrop. Some of the sides are open to the air (with the canopy acting as a roof), so you might want to wrap up warm. There are some picnic areas and refreshment areas dotted around the site which you can use during the interval and before it starts.
