Sakari Oramo will be conducting the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Chorus at Barbican Hall, with mezzo-soprano Alice Coote, tenor Stuart Skelton and bass Alan Ewing.

They will be performing Elgar'sThe Dream of Gerontius.

Sakari OramoSakari Oramo is the Chief Conductor of the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, and Principal Conductor with the West Coast Kokkola Opera and Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestra.

BBC Symphony OrchestraThe BBC Symphony Orchestra works closely with the BBC and is the principal orchestra during their world-famous Proms Concerts season at the Royal Albert Hall. They also play regular concerts at the Barbican.

BBC Symphony ChorusThe BBC Symphony Chorus is one of the country’s finest amateur choruses. It is closely associated with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, and makes frequent radio and TV appearances. It focuses mostly on 20th-century and contemporary music.
