Proms concert #63 will see Semyon Bychkov conducting the BBC Symphony Orchestra and pianist Kirill Gerstein in a selection of classical works by Taneyev, Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky.

Performers:

Semyon BychkovSemyon Bychkov’s early career saw him conduct the Berlin Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic and Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, before becoming Music Director at the Orchestre de Paris. He now holds the post of Gunter Wand Conducting Chair with the BBC Symphony Orchestra.

Kirill GersteinKirill Gerstein was a recipient of the prestigious Gilmore Artist Award for ‘extraordinary piano artistry’. He is currently a professor of piano at the Musikhochschule Stuttgart.

BBC Symphony OrchestraThe BBC Symphony Orchestra works closely with the BBC and is the principal orchestra during their world-famous Proms Concerts season at the Royal Albert Hall. They also play regular concerts at the Barbican.
