Seeing as it's summer, how about watching a bit blockbuster movie under the stars? Luna Cinema will be putting up a screen in Victoria Embankment Gardens this year -- that's the little park that's sandwiched between Victoria Embankment and the Strand.
Hopefully it won't rain (it never rains in London).
Tonight's film is The Big Lebowski (18, 112mins) by the Coen Brothers. That's the one where Jeff Bridges insists on being called 'The Dude' throughout the movie, but happens to share the same name as a millionaire who owes some money to a whole lot of dangerous and not very nice people. Needless to say, this doesn't sit well with Jeff's laid-back personality... especially when they ruin his carpet.
Note: You need to bring your own blanket to sit on (or you can order one when booking the tickets), unless you buy a premium ticket which comes with a complimentary drink at the bar and a decent seat. Bear in mind that screenings usually go ahead in bad weather -- so be prepared for a bit of cold.
Got a question? – Talk about Big Lebowski
Craig’s review – “There's a solid fog this morning. I was going to take some photos but I'd need a blow torch to clear it, so I've decided to mope around Victoria Embankment Gardens for a bit.I love this little park. It might even be my favourite park in London. I don't know why, because it's nothing special -- it's just a nice little place to walk through instead of pinballing past… continued”
