Seeing as it's summer, and it's hopefully going to be hot, how about giving the stuffy cinemas in Leicester Square a miss this week and watching a movie outdoors instead? The Luna Cinema will be showing four big blockbusters at the Open Air Theatre in Regent's Park.
Tonight's movie will be Steven Spielberg's Close Encounters Of The Third Kind (PG, 130 mins). That's the one where Richard Dreyfuss gets a suntan from looking at a spaceship, and they have to play a piano to communicate with it (I've never understood that bit!). This movie should be really good to watch on an outdoor screen... how many people do you reckon will be scanning the skies for aliens?
Note: The Regent's Park Open Air Theatre is a little bit different to other theatres, because the seating area and stage are completely uncovered -- hence its name. Premium tickets come with a complimentary drink at the bar and a decent seating position. Bear in mind that screenings usually go ahead in bad weather -- so be prepared for a bit of drizzle and cold.
Got a question? – Talk about Close Encounters Of The Third Kind
