Roy Ayers -- The Godfather of Neo-Soul -- was around at the birth of acid jazz and jazz funk, and scores of DJs and hip-hoppers have been incorporating samples of his music into their own tunes, giving Roy Ayers' career a second wind.
But he's best known for his big hits in the 70s including 'Everybody Loves the Sunshine', 'Searchin' and 'Freaky Deaky'.
Roy Ayers’s last appearances in London were at Jazz Café and The Forum, and the next performance is at Barbican Hall.
