If you see a load of blacked-out limos roaring up The Mall with a load of police motorbike outriders accompanying them, then you're probably looking at the President of Colombia.

His Excellency President Juan Manuel Santos Calderon and Mrs Maria Clemencia Rodriguez de Santos will be coming to London on the 1st-3rd November for a State Visit. The Queen has kindly agreed to put them up for a few nights at Buckingham Palace. (I've been there — it's very nice inside. They won't be disappointed.)

The current schedule for the first day (1st November) includes a Guard of Honour at Horse Guards. It will start at 11.45 AM and last for 45 minutes. The Household Cavalry will then escort them down to Buckingham Palace at 12.30 PM.

A 41-gun salute is due to go off in Green Park at 12.10 PM, plus another one at the Tower of London (also at 12.10 PM).
