The Geffrye Museum's annual "Christmas Past" exhibition is always very popular.
They decorate each of their period rooms how they would have looked in yesteryear, using traditional Christmas decorations, lights and greenery, and put on a bit of period music to get you in the seasonal spirit.
The idea behind it is that you can see how Christmas has been celebrated during the last 400 years, and discover the origins and meanings behind some of our most cherished traditions -- everything from decorating a tree and kissing under the mistletoe, to hanging up the stockings on the mantelpiece and sending Christmas cards.

Craig’s review – “This had better be good because it's quite a long walk. You have to get a tube train to Old Street and then traipse your way through an ugly bit of London for fifteen minutes. But when you finally arrive it's quite a nice surprise... because one minute you're on a busy main road and then all of a sudden it's peace and quiet in a countryside courtyard. All of the brown… continued”
