Have you ever wondered how Canaletto managed to draw his city scenes in such a lifelike fashion?
How on earth did he reproduce all of those complex buildings in 2D without the use of today's technology?

Well, now you can find out. Because this drawing workshop will explore his techniques and show how he sometimes altered the shapes and proportions, and omitted particular features, to create a satisfying picture.

Artist Gayna Pelham will introduce you to the rules of perspective, colour and light, and ensure that you will never look at cities in the same way again.

The lesson will take place in Room 38. No experience is necessary, and all materials will be provided.
